The Foxes’ hopes hang by a thread after being held by the Dutch side in the Europa Conference League first leg

The hopes of the European conference in LEICESTER are on the razor’s edge after a tense night at the King Power fizzled out and ended in a stalemate.
Brendan Rodgers’ side must now put in one of their greatest performances of all time at PSV’s pressure pot Philips Stadion if they are to keep their Euro dream from going out.

Although Harvey Barnes came closest with a shot that rattled the crossbar, the Dutch were denied a clear penalty when Ricardo Pereira brought down Cody Gakpo in the box.
Roger Schmidt’s side will look to avenge this injustice on home soil and it will take a tremendous effort from the Foxes to secure their place in the semi-finals with a win in Eindhoven.
The Premier League side survived an early scare after three minutes when they failed to pin the one threat they should have been hawking.
German legend Mario Götze’s pedigree was undeniable after he scored Germany’s winner against Argentina in the 2014 World Cup final.

But no one seemed to see the danger when PSV’s superstar forward met a through ball from Joey Veerman deep in the Foxes’ box.
Luckily, Kasper Schmeichel was on the alert and defied the highly decorated German with a stunning save to scrape away Götze’s net-bound shot with a swipe of his right glove.
Rodgers’ men finally came out of first gear when Youri Tieleman’s shot deflected into the sidenet and he urged the home fans to turn up the volume.
Kelechi Iheanacho should have given them more shouting about midway through the half when Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall charged down a Veerman clearance and the ball got to Iheanacho, who sprinted clearly.

But despite beating PSV keeper Yvon Mvogo, the Nigerian hitman’s shot went wide in agony.
Leicester drew even closer as Harvey Barnes scored a clean double with Iheanacho, but the winger’s drilled shot smashed at the junction of the crossbar and post.
PSV looked as shaken as their crossbar and were relieved to equalize at the break.
But the Dutch giants had every reason to be offended when they were denied a Stonewall penalty seven minutes into the second half.
Cody Gakpo showed why he is a £45m target for Arsenal and Manchester United as he drove at Ricardo Pereira then suddenly hacked in.
Pereira slipped trying to respond to the threat and he clearly whipped Gakpo’s leg away, causing the lanky winger to fall into the box.
Amazingly, Slovak referee Ivan Kruzliak missed the attack and without VAR, PSV failed to live up to the anger of their angry head coach Roger Schmidt.
Rodgers hopes his side have saved a sliver of luck for Thursday’s second leg in Eindhoven.
