The former Wimbledon champion and most attractive tennis player in the world shows off her toned physique and shorts as she works up a sweat

MARIA SHARAPOVA worked up a sweat in the gym as she prepared for the US Open.

The five-time Grand Slam champion, who retired in 2020, won at Flushing Meadows in 2006.

Having hung up her racquet, she is now preparing to return to the event.

Sharapova, now 36, shared a photo of herself wearing a gray top and black shorts while working out at the gym.

She captioned it “Pre New York.”

The former tennis favorite then said, “It’s tough,” as she snapped a short video during her practice session.

Sharapova added, “Strength training doesn’t come easy to me, but it’s important.”

In another picture, the Russian presented a green salad.

She wrote, “I can’t promise New York will look this sane.”

Sharapova’s last event came at the 2020 Australian Open, where she lost to Donna Vekic 6-3, 6-4 in round one.

Her last US Open appearance came in 2019 when she was brutally beaten 6-1, 6-1 by Serena Williams in the first round at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Sharapova has been in a relationship with British businessman Alexander Gilkes since 2018, and the two got engaged two years later.

In July last year, she gave birth to her first son.
