The former Man Utd boss responds with just one word when asked whether he could succeed in sacking Hansi Flick as Germany boss

Former Manchester United coach Ralf Rangnick responded bluntly to the question of whether he could become the next German coach.

Hansi Flick’s terrible reign with the four-time world champions came to an end on Sunday after a dismal 4-1 home defeat to Japan.

It was the fourth defeat in the last five games.

Germany also suffered humiliation at the World Cup, having already been eliminated in the group stage.

And Flick’s departure made him the first manager in the national team’s history to be sacked.

The DFB bosses are now looking for a replacement for the European Championships next summer.

Former Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann is considered the favorite, while Liverpool’s Jürgen Klopp is the dream candidate.

However, some reports claimed that ex-RB Leipzig boss Rangnick was also involved.

He currently manages German neighbors Austria after leaving Man United last summer.

However, Rangnick was extremely blunt with reporters when asked if he planned to leave the ship.

The 65-year-old simply said: “No.”

And when asked, he added: “I decided 14 months ago to work here as team boss and to prepare the team so that we qualify for the European Championships and play a good role there.”

“Everything else is not an issue for me.”

Rangnick’s time at Old Trafford was short, he took over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November 2021.

He won only 11 of his 31 games as manager.

And United showed him the door in the summer of 2022 when Rangnick was replaced by current boss Erik ten Hag.
