OFFICE DEPOT – FLORIDA
An Office Depot location in Orlando, Florida will be the first to go.
The 20,400-square-foot store will close March 25 and be replaced by a Dollar Tree shortly thereafter.
The store has announced a sale with a 40 percent discount.
OFFICE MAX – NEW YORK
The chain is also closing its OfficeMax store in Cicero, New York.

OfficeMax merged with Office Depot in 2013, and this business has been around for 15 years.
The site will permanently close its doors at the end of March, but an exact closing date has not yet been announced.
Store employees told local news outlet Syracuse.com that they don’t know the reason for the closure.
The US Sun has reached out to Office Depot for comment on both deals.
These closures follow the closure of Office Depot in Jacksonville, Fla., which closed on February 4th.
A location in New Albany, Indiana, was also closed on the same day.
BRACKETS – STATEN ISLAND
Staples in New Springville, Staten Island will close its doors on April 14th.
A sign in the window reads, “Store Closing – 30 percent off your in-store purchase. Get these deals before they’re gone.”
The US Sun has reached out to Staples for comment.
MORE CLOSURES
About 263 Office Depot stores closed from 2020 to 2021, with several more closing over the past year.
Staples had previously tried to buy the chain, but the company’s offer was turned down in June 2022.
Office supply stores took a hit during the pandemic as professionals turned to working remotely.
But these brands aren’t the only retailers suffering from store closures this year.
New inflationary buying habits coupled with a rise in e-commerce has left many brick-and-mortar stores struggling to survive.
Hundreds have already shut down in what has been dubbed the “retail apocalypse.”
For example, there are a number of CVS closures in March, including some this week.

Walmart is closing two stores this month after locations failed to meet “financial expectations.”
