IT IS one for the family albumin – a domestic hen laid a perfectly round egg.
Rescue hen Twinskie hits a billion-to-one odds with the spherical stunner.
Owner Annabel Mulcahy found the freak fryer in her chicken coop’s nest box on Saturday morning.
She said: “I opened the box and it was there, a perfect circle.
“I googled it and it was quoted as saying it’s one in a billion. It is strange.
“I had to look twice. I can roll it on the table like a marble.”
Annabel from Brize Norton, Oxon has been raising chickens since 2002 and has been rescuing more of them as her daughters are more interested.
Twinskie usually produces oval oeufs, but their latest work isn’t meant for the plate.
Annabel said: “I’ve put the egg up for sale on eBay, where some have gone for prices of £480 in the past.
“What I get goes towards an extra run so I can save more chickens.
“You are so friendly. When I’m in the garden they come and sunbathe at your feet.
“Twinskie is nicknamed Labrador because she will follow you everywhere.”
