Father Stewart, 51, and sons Joshua, 12, and Dominic, eight, from Trowbridge, Wilts, planted their magic bean back in May.

Stewart said: “In six weeks it was all the way up the house.

“Now it’s growing along the gutter.

“It just won’t stop.

Stewart added: “My partner and I and our boys have always loved growing things and with the kids it started at a very young age.

“We’ve grown all kinds – from sunflowers to lichens – but we’ve never grown a runner bean that big.”

Joshua, 12, added: “None of us can believe it’s gotten this big – it’s like magic!”
