Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy join again. The new miniseries they are creating for Netflix would be great. After the success of their most recent series Mass at midnight, they will have to do some serious work to get there. But considering they are using Edgar Allan Poe as the source material, the result is bound to be something extraordinary.

We have seen many Flanagan’s works on Netflix, including The haunting collection, Gerald’s Game, Before I Wake, and Silent. All of these mentioned are outstanding traits, and it makes you wonder how he managed to top them all.

This time, the creators will use Poe’s The Fall of the Usher . Family short stories and some other stories to create this series.

This project was announced earlier this year and Flanagan has stated that primary photography is a few weeks from December 2021. So don’t expect a release date for that. The Fall of the Usher . Family anytime soon. But rest assured, we will keep an eye on all the news on this and deliver it.

Mike Flanagan took to Twitter to begin rolling out casting announcements on December 9, with the rest of the cast announced on December 10. Here’s what we know so far.

• Frank Langella as Roderick Usher, the highest patriarch of the Usher dynasty
• Carla Gugino
• Mary McDonnel as Madeline Usher, Roderick’s twin sister and hidden hand of the Usher dynasty
• Carl Lumbly as C. Auguste Dupin, the legendary investigator
• Mark Hamill as an unnamed role, someone who is surprisingly at home in the dark

Synopsis The Fall of the House of Usher

The Fall of the Usher . Family is a short story penned by Poe published in 1839 in Burton’s Gentleman’s Magazine. It will then be included Strange and Arabic stories in 1840. It is a Gothic fantasy story with themes of madness, family, isolation, and metaphysical identities.

The short story begins with an unnamed narrator visiting the Ushers’ home at the request of his longtime friend Roderick. It seemed he and his sister Madeline were both very ill, and Roderick turned to his friend for support.

It will be interesting to see how closely they follow the source material. Looks like this won’t be the only story they use in this series. The begin of the year, Limit line reported that the series will consist of eight episodes, which will be unrelated to Flanagan’s other works.
