‘The Fairly OddParents’ Reboot Release Date, Trailer, Live-Action Cast

Paramount’s live-action + Quite odd revival has everything: Wands and wings, floating crown things, and Laura Bell Bundy National Treasure.

Premieres on Thursday, March 31 and picks up “years after the original ended”, Weird Parents: Quite Weird introduced Timmy Turner’s cousin Viv (played by Audrey Grace Marshall a.k.a Flight attendantYoung Cassie) and her new stepbrother Roy Raskin (Single parents‘Tyler Wladis). Together, the sibs must “navigate life in Dimmsdale with the help of their first godparents, Wanda and Cosmo,” according to the official diary. The trailer above also features animators curator Jorgen Von Strangle, who pays the godparents a most unwanted visit at 1:30.

The revival cast is pretty weirdSusanne Blakeslee and Daran Norris reprized their voices as Wanda and Cosmo, while Broadway vet Bundy (who has numerous TV credits including anger management, Dixie’s Hart and How I meet your Mother) plays Rachel, Roy’s mother. Rounding out the cast is Ryan-James Hatanaka (Nancy Drew, When Hope Calls) as Ty, Viv’s father, who seems to enjoy the monstrous tone of the original series when he tells his daughter that she’s about to meet his new wife and her son for the first time; newcomer Imogen Cohen as Zina Zacarias, Viv and Roy’s friend; and guest star Caleb Pierce (The Real O’Neals) as Timmy bound by Princeton.

A 13-episode sequel run by executive producer Christopher J. Nowak (Dangerous force), who also acts as a host. Butch Hartman and Fred Seibert (OG Quite odd), Samantha Martin (Dangerous force) and chief pilot Mike Caron (Dangerous force) also serves as the EP.

Original Quite odd ran for 10 seasons on Nickelodeon from 2001 to 2017, and follows the magical adventures of 10-year-old Timmy Turner and his kind-hearted fairy godparents who grant him wishes. The previous series spawned a live action drama trilogy – 2011 A rather quirky movie: Growing Up, Timmy Turner!Year 2012 Quite a strange Christmas and 2014 Quite a weird summer – all starring Drake Bell (Drake & Josh) as Timmy Turner and Daniella Monet (Win) as Tootie.
