JACOB RAMSEY is flying home from England’s U21 European Championship camp today due to injury as he fears missing the start of the season.

The 22-year-old Aston Villa star injured his ankle in Sunday’s 1-0 quarter-final win over Portugal and left the game on crutches.

He will undergo further testing in England and may even need an operation.

He now faces a race against time to prove his fitness ahead of Villa’s season opener in Newcastle on August 12.

Lee Carsley’s Young Lions meet Israel in the semifinals on Wednesday after beating them 2-0 in their clean-shooting group stage.

Carsley has defensive problems with full-backs Max Aarons and Ben Johnson both suspended for receiving too many yellow cards.
