JUBILANT fans knew England’s World Cup campaign was only going one way as they doused 1D’s Louis Tomlinson in beer as the Three Lions scored.

The football-loving former boy band star crowded into the packed fan zone at Boxpark, Wembley, north London, to roar at Gareth Southgate’s men as they beat Senegal last night.

Pints flew as Jordan Henderson shattered the nation’s tension with his opening goal before Harry Kane’s first goal of the tournament lifted the roof.

Manager Tom Brodie, 28, punched the air in the fan zone in Newcastle as England scored.

He said: “It may be the dead of winter and rainy in Newcastle but lots of pints and a win in England made it feel like a summer Saturday night.”

At the Luna Springs pub in Birmingham, engineer Chris Mitchell, 22, said: “It’s coming home, it has to be.

“It’s weird being cooped up inside instead of out in the sun like we usually do, but who cares when we’re winning like this?”

HR worker Dan Hall, 35, looked on at the Test Match Hotel in Nottingham.

He said: “We couldn’t make it to Qatar but the pub was packed every England game and we really yelled at the lads.

“Apart from there being a Christmas tree in the corner, it could almost be like watching a Summer World Cup in the pub.”

British Beer and Pub Association boss Emma McClarkin said: “The beer has been flowing and the fans have come to cheer for England.”
