The Eastland County Fire in Texas sees ‘many buildings’ burn as firefighters work to save the church and issue evacuation orders

According to emergency teams, a wildfire has hit a northeastern part of Taylor County and it’s affecting multiple counties.

People are advised not to put out fires on their own.

The Texas Department of Transportation has informed the public that it has closed SH 6 in Eastland County due to “the fire is spreading rapidly.”

The Crews Gap fire, which began on Wednesday, was rekindled on Thursday.

The fire appeared to engulf the Second Baptist Church in Ranger as well as a former police station in the area.

Firefighters were seen rushing down buildings as thick black smoke rose into the sky.
