A motorist in MORON has been mocked on social media after being stopped for leaving a large pile of wood on the roof of his car.

Timber from a barn or fence is held in place on the Audi by just four bungee straps as it travels along the M5 in the West Midlands.

The police, who only warned the driver, said: “It is a miracle that this vehicle did not fall down causing injury to anyone and endangering road users.”

But social media mocked the driver, with one telling police: “Perhaps you stopped a bad accident.

“Be careful, he can break through the fence.”

John Gardiner joked: “That person is having a lot of problems right now.”

Jason Bramwell raged: “How does anyone think this is acceptable?”
