The death of Jorge Diaz-Johnston, brother of former Miami mayor, investigated as murder – CBS Miami

TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami) – The brother of former Miami Mayor Manny Diaz was found dead over the weekend. Now his death is the subject of a murder investigation.

Jorge Diaz-Johnston disappeared on Monday, January 3.

Diaz-Johnston and her husband are now one of six couples filing a lawsuit to overturn Florida’s ban on same-sex marriage eight years ago.

In a statement, the former mayor and current head of the Democratic Party of Florida said:

The Tallahassee Police Department is asking anyone with information about the incident to handle it.
