The Crown season 5 is not coming to Netflix in May 2022

We’re all ready to see the new cast take on the roles in The crown Season 5. The wait for it continues as it’s not coming in May 2022.

We’d love nothing more than to say, “Surprise, The crown Season 5 is coming sooner than expected.” Unfortunately, that’s not the case. The list of Netflix releases for May is out, and this series is nowhere to be found.

Of course, we didn’t expect to see it anywhere on the list. It didn’t stop us from just looking through to see if there was some kind of miracle or change of plan. We still have to wait, and we know roughly how long that wait will be.

When is The Crown Season 5 coming to Netflix?

Netflix has announced that season five will be released sometime in November 2022. This is exactly what we expected long before the announcement. The first two seasons dropped at the end of their respective years and then the show took a year off before the next two seasons were released at the end of their respective years. Why break this pattern when you don’t have to?

However, the focus for the producers is on Season 6. screen rant shared that the series is trying to cast a young Kate Middleton. The series had previously said it would not be going into the current royals. After all, when it comes to casting Megan Markle, can she just play herself?

There are also talks of doing a prequel series. This will either cover pre-WWII politics, i.e. Elizabeth’s father, King George VI, or it will cover the reign of Queen Victoria. Given the many times Queen Victoria’s reign has been reported, perhaps George VI and Edward VIII’s abdication would be something else.

Stay tuned in for the latest updates The crown Season 5 on Netflix.
