The Critics Choice Awards 2022 film nominations: See the full list

The Critics’ Choice Association revealed their film picks just hours after the HFPA announced the Golden Globe nominations.

During a busy awards season on Monday morning, Critics Selection Association has revealed its film nominations for the 2022 Critics’ Choice Awards – just hours after the Hollywood Foreign Press Association revealed Selections of the Golden Globes. Focus Features’ “Belfast” and 20th Century Studios’ “West Side Story” lead the nominations for this year’s film, each earning 11 nominations. In addition to Best Picture, “Belfast” also earned several acting nominations including Best Supporting Actor for both Jamie Dornan and Ciarán Hinds, Best Supporting Actress for Caitríona Balfe, Male/ Best Young Actress for Jude Hill and Best Actor, while Kenneth Branagh could take home both Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. “Belfast” also received nominations for Haris Zambarloukos for Best Cinematography, Jim Clay and Claire Nia Richards for Best Production Design, and Úna Ní Dhonghaíle for Best Editing.

“Dune” and “The Power of the Dog” have 10 nominations, respectively. Steven Spielberg received a Best Director nomination for “West Side Story”. Two of the film’s standout actors, Ariana DeBose and Rita Moreno, will compete for Best Supporting Actress, while Rachel Zegler is up for Best Young Actor/Actress. “West Side Story” also earned nominations for Best Actor, and Tony Kushner for Best Adapted Screenplay, Janusz Kaminski for Best Cinematography, Adam Stockhausen and Rena DeAngelo for Production Design Best Editing, Sarah Broshar and Michael Kahn for Best Editing, and Paul Tazewell for Best Costume Design.

“Licorice Pizza” and “Nightmare Alley” earned eight nominations, followed by “King Richard” and “Don’t Look Up,” with six each. Rounding out the Best Picture nominations are “CODA” and “Tick Tick Boom.”

Ballots for the final round of voting for the Critics’ Choice Awards will be handed out to members on January 5, 2022, and will be returned just two days later on January 7 at 9. pm pacific time. The 27th Critics’ Choice Awards will be held at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City and air on Sunday, January 9, 2022, on The CW Network and TBS. A server has yet to be announced. Taye Diggs, star of The CW’s “All American,” has been a host for the past three years.
