A COUP to oust “cancer-stricken” Vladimir Putin from power is already underway, Ukrane’s spy chief has claimed.
Major General Kyrylo Budanov, 36, believes the tyrant’s disastrous war in Ukraine will reach a “breaking point” in the summer and be over before the end of the year.
The official told Sky News that Putin will be ousted from office within this period as his invasion continues to falter amid stiff Ukrainian opposition – and rumors continue to circulate about the Russian president’s health.
General Budanov said: “The turning point will be in the second half of August.
“Most active combat operations will be completed by the end of this year.
“As a result, we will restore Ukraine’s power in all of our territories that we lost, including Donbass and Crimea.”
Putin had hoped for a quick victory in Ukraine – but the faltering invasion has resulted in thousands of Russian soldiers being killed and huge amounts of hardware destroyed by heroic defenders.
General Budanov believes the war will be over in a few months and that Putin – who he says is suffering from serious cancer – will be removed from power.
He told the outlet: “It will eventually lead to a leadership change in the Russian Federation.
“That process has already started and they are moving in that direction.”
The official said a coup was already underway.
He added, “They move that way and it’s impossible to stop them.”
General Budanov also fueled rumors about the tyrant’s alleged poor health, claiming that he was in “very bad mental and physical condition and he was very ill”.
It comes after a top oligarch allegedly claimed Putin was “very ill with blood cancer” in the audio recording obtained by New Lines Magazine.
Putin’s health came under close scrutiny in post-war Ukraine, and rumors mounted after last week’s military parade, when the tyrant was spotted with a blanket over his legs.
Claims from anti-Kremlin sources claim that Putin, 69, is due to take part in cancer surgery “any moment”.
Meanwhile, a former NATO commander said Putin is being surrounded by “hardmen” who want to oust him amid coup rumors for his horrendous warfare.
Sir James Everard, who served as NATO’s deputy supreme allied commander in Europe, said Putin was “in trouble” and was running out of time to prevent a coup against him.
Speaking to The Sun Online, the former British general said: “Putin is in a terrible place. It was entirely his own business.
“There are tough men in Russia who would have removed him if they lost Ukraine to NATO and the EU.
“He acted and now the whole thing has gone wrong and he’s vulnerable again and he’s in trouble.”
