The Continental: How does the series fit into the John Wick universe?

JOHN Wick’s quest for revenge began with the franchise’s first installment in 2014.
In the Peacock spinoff The Continental, the series takes place decades before the character’s rage began.
How does The Continental fit into the John Wick universe?
The events of the John Wick spinoff “The Continental” take place in the 1970s.
The series takes place approximately 40 years before the title character sets out on a quest for revenge.
Therefore, Keanu Reeves will not appear as the aforementioned character.
The Continental is the hotel chain in which many scenes in the franchise take place.

The Continental belongs to John’s friend and enemy Winston Scott and serves as a haven for assassins.
At the beginning of the prequel timeline, The Continental is managed by Cormac; played by Mel Gibson.
The plot of the series tells of Winston’s rise to power and how he became the owner of the hotel chain.
“We’ve always loved this world and really wanted to explore it, and that’s how we came up with the idea,” said showrunner Erica Lee.

she said Collider: “With the choice of the Seventies and the prequel of Winston, a popular character, and the idea of using The Continental as his own character in the film, we had only just scratched the surface.
“I think when people see it they’ll be really surprised by it because we really capture the look and feel of New York in the ’70s.”
What are the rules of the Continental?
Although the hotel chain serves as a haven for assassins, The Continental’s policies prohibit assassins from carrying out assassinations during the remainder of their stay.
The mainland is supposed to be neutral ground and the rules state that hostilities cannot be responded to.
This means that there are no fights and no violence when visiting the places.
This rule has been broken several times throughout the franchise’s history.
John, played by Keanu Reeves, broke the rule at the end of the second film.
In the same film, Adrianne Palicki’s character Ms. Perkins didn’t follow the rule; which led to her execution.
Also in John Wick: Chapter 3, John and Winston temporarily waive the directive so they can fight to the death.
