The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is investigating text messages related to Gulf Coast High School desks

COLLIER COUNTY

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is investigating what it says was a related message written on a desk at Gulf Coast High School.

Detectives are actively investigating the message and working to determine the source. They did not publish the content of the message.

Out of an abundance of caution, Collier County Sheriff deputies will be in large numbers at the school on Thursday. The sheriff’s office said school safety remained a top priority.

If you see something disturbing, don’t spread it from person to person or on social media, report it instead, the sheriff’s office said. You can call CCSO at 239-252-9300. Or, to remain anonymous and qualify for rewards, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 800-780-8477.
