Her body was then discovered a year later in a suitcase in a car in a garage on the outskirts of a village near Lipetsk – some 400 kilometers from the capital.

It has now been revealed that Gretta predicted her own death just days before her disappearance in a creepy video she secretly filmed at the hotel reception and sent to a friend.

The footage appears to have been captured on Gretta’s mobile phone, but was kept under reception so hotel staff could not see it.

She can be heard on the footage: “I’m from number 708. I screamed, I was threatened with death, but nobody came to my rescue.

“Why? You understand if something happens to me.”

The hotel manager then says something unintelligible before Gretta continues: “Remember, his name.”

She then several times named her boyfriend Dmitry Korovin as her future killer.

The friend, who is not named in local media, said: “I have met Korovin several times. I didn’t like him at all.

“First, it’s immediately clear that this person is unpredictable, unprincipled, and dangerous.

“Secondly, I know for sure – he understood perfectly what Gretta was doing.

“But he didn’t stop her. And even vice versa – he took advantage of the fact that she was making a lot of money.”

Gretta complained to her friends that Korovin kept asking her for money and wouldn’t pay her back.

Her friend said: “Dima had a problem. drugs. Gretta took various substances with him for a while but then stopped.”

But despite Korovin’s huge debt to her – reportedly RUB 1 million (£15,200) – she didn’t call it quits.

He told police that the couple had a falling out over Gretta’s clients on the day of the model’s death.

Korovin, who was drunk at the time, claimed he lunged at her and eventually strangled her before passing out.

He said that when he came to, he found them cold on the bed, packed them in the suitcase and left Moscow with them.

MURDER INVESTIGATION

The suitcase was then kept in his parents’ garage for a year.

An investigator revealed that Korovin said to him: “I couldn’t bring myself to bury Gretta anywhere in the woods, like some kind of dog.

“We were close to her, I couldn’t do that to her.”

Activated charcoal was also found in the suitcase and Korovin told investigators he heard it would clear the smell of her decomposing corpse.

He is scheduled to undergo a forensic psychiatric evaluation.

The Russian Federation Investigative Committee on the City of Moscow said: “On March 12, 2022, the body of a model who disappeared in Moscow in 2021 was found in the garage of a country house in the city of Lipetsk.

“The accused was detained in accordance with Article 91 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation.

“During interrogation, he fully admitted his guilt and explained to the investigator that he strangled his girlfriend as a result of a conflict that arose due to financial and domestic disagreements.

“After the accused committed the crime, he hid the body in a suitcase and took it to the territory of the city of Lipetsk, where he lived.

“Today the investigation asks the Presnensky District Court in Moscow to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the accused.

“The criminal investigation is ongoing.”
