“The cancer-stricken ‘Putin’ has deteriorated after surgery and is hiding with recorded footage,” claims a Kremlin insider

Vladimir Putin’s health has deteriorated after he underwent surgery and was hidden with the recorded footage, Kremlin insiders have claimed.

The claim comes amid mounting rumors that the Russian leader is battling cancer and has recently undergone surgery and chemotherapy.

A source today claimed Putin underwent “successful” cancer surgery last week.

According to the opposition Telegram channel General SVR, which regularly claims to have inside knowledge of the Kremlin leader’s alleged health problems, medics insisted the operation was essential.

The channel, which is reportedly run by a Kremlin insider, claimed there was a problem with Putin’s post-operative recovery on Friday night as his condition worsened before improving.

In its latest post, the General SVR channel said: “In the night from Monday May 16 to Tuesday May 17, Russian President Vladimir Putin underwent a surgical procedure.

“The doctors treating Putin demanded that he be operated on as soon as possible.

“According to the doctors involved in treating the President, the operation was successful.”

The same source claimed that the Russian President’s recent television appearances were staged to cover his week-long absence due to illness.

The channel claimed Putin had been absent since last Tuesday, but Russian media used pre-recorded footage to make it appear he was holding meetings at the Kremlin.

And his trusted adviser Nikolai Patrushev — a former FSB chief — is now in virtual control of the Kremlin, according to the General SVR Telegram channel, which claims to have inside information.

Patrushev is said to have seized power and received top-level briefings that would normally go straight to Putin.

The Kremlin has not commented on the alleged operation, but routinely insists that Putin is in robust health and denies any medical problems.

Putin was seen Friday apparently chairing a meeting of his Security Council, the body overseeing the war in Ukraine.

But General SVR said: “The President’s speech was pre-recorded and Putin’s participation in video format was assisted using deepfake technology, as was the case the week before.

“In reality, on May 20, Putin was still too weak to attend long meetings and had two short video calls.

“On the evening of May 20, Putin’s health deteriorated and only stabilized on Saturday morning, May 21.

“The attending physicians recommend that Putin rest in the coming days and urge him to refuse to attend meetings in person.”

It claimed Putin’s close ally, Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko, was taking part in a smokescreen and was apparently arriving on a trip to Russia that is set to include a meeting with the Kremlin leader today.

Lukashenko, who was seen in the Black Sea resort of Sochi, was “one of the few people” who “knows the true state of affairs regarding Putin’s health”.

Previously, it was claimed that Lukashenko meetings were meant to show Putin was fit when he actually had health issues.

The Russian tyrant is widely reported to be suffering from cancer and Parkinson’s disease, while a top oligarch claims he is “deeply ill with blood cancer”.

An investigation by independent Russian journalists revealed that Putin was constantly surrounded by a large medical team led by a thyroid cancer specialist.

The General SVR channel previously said key figures believe Putin is terminally ill and this has changed the dynamic in Russia.

His absence “since Tuesday” cannot be verified, but the channel said its staff “show recorded videos of its meetings”.

Face-to-face meetings with Rostech boss Sergei Chemezov and Rosatom boss Alexey Likhachev were pictured Wednesday and Thursday.

But the “canned” pictures are said to have been taken some time ago and saved to maintain the impression that Putin is active.

He also appeared to have video calls on Friday with Sverdlovsk Region Governor Evgeny Kuyvashev and Kaliningrad Region Governor Anton Alikhanov, which are now said to have taken place.

General SVR later said Friday’s Security Council meeting was also staged.

The Telegram channel added that currently only Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council, maintains official communications with Putin.

It continues: “Putin is ill and has incurable diseases such as oncology, which is at a stage that cannot be cured today, Parkinson’s disease and schizoaffective disorder.”

The Russian leader “is certainly receiving the most advanced and innovative treatment and he has the ability to extend his life, there is no doubt about that”.

The Russian leader’s bizarre appearance recently sparked rumors that footage of him undergoing cancer treatment had been edited.

During a virtual meeting of the Russian Security Council, Putin’s head appeared “bloated,” with some suggesting it was actually photoshopped.

Back in March, a video posted on Reddit speculated that Mad Vlad used a green screen to fake a TV meeting while in isolation after his hand was seen “going through a microphone.”

The new allegations come after US filmmaker Oliver Stone claimed Putin suffered from cancer but “licked” it and has recovered.

In a recent video, Putin appeared to choke and stutter as he clutched for the table during talks with his ally Sergey Chemezov.
