A British father had his leg amputated after his daughter hit him with a boat while on holiday in Italy.
His daughter is said to have confused forward gear with reverse gear in the car horror Accident off the coast of Cannigione, Sardinia.
The Man – who is not named – was admitted to Sassari Hospital with a serious injury to his left leg.
Doctors reportedly had to amputate part of his leg after it was torn apart in the accident.
Air ambulances rushed to the scene of the accident near Cannigione beach.
The La Maddalena Coast Guard is now investigating the horrific incident. Galluraoggi reports.
The daughter reportedly thought she was driving the boat forwards when in fact it was backwards.
She then accidentally ran over her father who was in the water, leaving life-changing injuries.
Cannigione is a small coastal village in Sardinia with a picturesque beach – and a popular spot for snorkeling and diving.
It comes after a British tourist was found dead at the bottom of a cliff in Italy after a walk last year.
Gerard Christopher Turner, 56, went solo hiking with his family in Lezzono, near the Alps, Italy, while on vacation.
His family then became concerned when he did not return.
Around 50 men searched the mountains, including volunteers and technicians from the Alpine rescue service, firefighters, civil protection and carabinieri.
Firefighters and police officers also dispatched canine units to search for him.
Then drones were deployed and they managed to find Turner’s body at the bottom of a cliff.
