The weekend of violence began with a 24-year-old male victim who was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital around 1:30 a.m. Friday with a gunshot wound to the foot, police said.

He was reportedly “uncooperative with details,” and no one was arrested, authorities claimed.

The investigation into his attack is ongoing.

Then, around 5:30 a.m. Friday, a 31-year-old male victim was outside when he “heard gunshots and then felt pain,” according to police.

He was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound to his back but was deemed to be in “fair condition”.

The violence began again around 3.08am on Saturday when a 29-year-old male victim was allegedly shot dead by “several male criminals who fled the scene on foot,” police said.

He was hit once in the back and leg and taken to the hospital, but his injuries were not life-threatening.

The victim could not identify who shot him and no arrest was made, according to police.

At 4.18am on Saturday, an “unidentified woman” was found with gunshot wounds to her face and lower body after police responded to the gunfire.

The victim was in critical condition as of Saturday and police are currently investigating the incident.

Then, at around 7:49 a.m., an “unknown man” was found unresponsive on the sidewalk by responding officers with about 16 gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

As of Saturday, no one had been arrested.

Later that morning, a 19-year-old man sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the body and took himself to the hospital, where he was taken to another facility in serious condition.

On Saturday afternoon, an 18-year-old was shot in the leg by an “unknown perpetrator” while driving.

Later in the day, around 3:20 p.m., a 16-year-old was shot in the stomach on the sidewalk.

In another seemingly unrelated incident, a 59-year-old man was shot dead about 20 minutes later by two “unknown” gunmen, police said.

An investigation into these incidents is ongoing.

The victims were in stable condition on Saturday.

They came shortly after an 18-year-old accidentally shot himself in the groin around 2pm after a car approached him as he was walking down the street, police said.

He was taken to hospital but appeared to be in good condition despite his injury.

At around 6:00 p.m., a 24-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to the left side of his body after an unidentified person on foot hit his car.

He was in critical condition on Saturday and an investigation is ongoing.

At 11:28 p.m., a 22-year-old was taken to hospital after being shot in the foot on his porch after hearing gunshots, but he was later released, police said.

Early Sunday morning around 1.36pm, a 24-year-old man was arrested after shooting a 38-year-old in the chest after they got into a physical altercation, police said.

The suspect was taken to hospital with minor injuries after being arrested.

Just minutes later, a 14-year-old was shot in the knee and taken to hospital in good condition, police said.

About an hour earlier, a 27-year-old man was hit in the thigh and knee after being shot while driving in his vehicle.

He is believed to be in good condition and believes the perpetrator shot him from a red sedan, police said.

Finally, a 40-year-old man was hit by a stray bullet at his home this morning but is in good condition.

Police will release official gunfire injuries and fatalities this weekend on Tuesday, a spokesman for the Chicago Police Department told The US Sun.
