The Bachelor’s Greer Blitzer apologizes for “ignorant and uneducated” previous tweets after being slammed for making “racist” remarks

BACHELOR contestant Greer Blitzer has spoken out about “racist” accusations after her questionable tweets from the past resurfaced.

The reality star took to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday to issue a lengthy apology.

Greer wrote, “The journey to love is filled with lessons and those lessons are also made on our growth journey. In my past, I’ve made some uneducated, ignorant, and frankly false comments on my social media accounts.”

She continued her post by explaining the resurfaced tweets: “Specifically, in 2016 I used misguided arguments on Twitter to defend a student who dressed up as Tupac in blackface for Halloween.”

The 24-year-old then apologized for her words, calling them “damaging opinions”.

“I am deeply sorry for those I have hurt, particularly those within the Black community, not because these screenshots have surfaced, but because I have ever shared these harmful opinions. Time and age don’t excuse my actions, but that’s not a reflection of who I am today.”

She concluded, “I do not own or condone the harmful opinions and behaviors I have shared at this stage in my life and will forever regret making those offensive comments.”

On Monday, The US Sun exclusively revealed the Texas native’s troubled past, including the controversial tweets.

Greer was caught defending a blackface photo taken at an off-campus party, sparking trouble at Lamar High School in Houston.

The photo appeared to be of a white teenage girl with black paint on her face, wearing a t-shirt featuring the late rapper Tupac. The party was organized by a secret social club called Wichaka, according to Houston-based NBC affiliate KPRC.

According to screenshots from a Bachelor Reddit group, Greer took to Instagram to express her feelings.

She commented on one post: “The students involved didn’t even know what a black face was, so my point right there. It was not a deliberate racist act.

“She didn’t paint herself black because she felt black was superior [people].

“Putting white powder on your face isn’t okay either. That didn’t make the news?

“I apologize if that offended you, but you have to understand that initially it wasn’t meant to be perceived at all.”

Reddit users blasted Greer’s posts. To date, there have been almost 900 comments on the thread.

One user wrote: “She’s a Trumper who fought for Trump in her full grown MAGA gear and probably wore her DIY Trump 2016 shirts with her best friends.

“She said blackface is not racist and complained that when people use white powder, it doesn’t get reported in the news.

“She also minimized slavery and anti-black racism, pointing out that other races experience it as well, such as the Jewish and Irish people.”

Another explained: “I have no problem with conservative candidates but I have a huge problem with TPTB (the powers that be) filling another racist candidate.

“Maybe she was young and didn’t know any better at the time, but I assume there weren’t any posts saying she was wrong and shouldn’t have been.

“If she’s old enough to be on the show, then she’s old enough to reflect on her past behavior and write it down before applying for a very popular reality program.”

Another user commented, “I always followed her because she grew up in the same town as me and we knew some of the same people and that’s exactly why I unfollowed her all those years ago.”

The US Sun has reached out to ABC and Greer for comment.

Greer is rumored to be a frontrunner in the current season of The Bachelor and is fighting for the heart of the former The Bachelorette contestant. Zach Shallcross, 26.

She is one of 30 women fighting for a chance at love with the heartthrob in the show’s 27th season.
