The Australian Open commentator was forced to apologize after Daniil Medvedev’s adult outburst was seen on live television

DANIIL MEDVEDEV was caught on camera swearing at a fan during his Australian Open win over Marcos Giron.

The 26-year-old Russian tennis player triumphed over the American 6-0, 6-1, 6-2 in the first round earlier.

However, it was his foul-mouthed rant that got most people talking afterwards.

And it was even taped live on TV, with Eurosport commentator Simon Reed being forced to apologize to viewers.

Medvedev, serving for the win 5-2, was picked up by the pitchside mics and said, “Fuck off.”

The referee heard him too and he was cautioned before ending the game.

Reed told viewers, “Oh, sorry about the language. He didn’t say it out loud, but it was picked up on.”

Remarkably, it’s not the first time Medvedev has clashed with fans at the Australian Open.

Last year, he accused the crowd of being “disrespectful” after his defeat by Rafa Nadal, claiming they have a “low IQ”.

Despite admitting his comments were “not smart”, he apologized ahead of his clash with Giron.

British tennis legend Tim Henman worked as a pundit for Eurosport and he believes the “strange” exchange was sparked by the incident 12 months ago.

He said: “It was a very strange time to react like that.

“It was a very good performance but a really weird ending with the last two points with his reaction and swearing at someone in the audience.

“Maybe a little afterthought from last year.”

Medvedev now meets Australian John Millman in the second round on Wednesday.
