The Aston Villa trio are set to exit the January transfer window as Emery is looking to sign ex-Arsenal star Guendouzi

ASTON VILLA will sack three players in a massive squad clearance this month.

That’s as Unai Emery prepares a £30m bid for ex-Arsenal star Matteo Guendouzi.

The Birmingham Mail claims Marvelous Nakamba and Morgan Sanson will be leaving Villa Park in the next ten days.

And Emery is already counting the money after selling Danny Ings to West Ham for £15million today.

The striker leaves Southampton just 18 months after a £25m move.

However, Nakamba is expected to be the next to leave Villa after failing to make a single league game this season.

And he could be followed by Sanson, who Emery is a fan of but admits regularly takes minutes to reach his potential.

The Frenchman joined Villa for £16million two years ago but has only played 400 minutes of football.

Emery explained: “Sanson is a possibility to go but for me he is a very good player.

“He understands very well how we want to play and he has the skills to do that.

“But he has to play in a team to be consistent and try to play more and here it’s difficult to give him that – he also finds something to leave.”

The departures of Nakamba and Sanson would open the door for a midfield signing.

And France international Guendouzi is understood to be high on Emery’s list.

The duo worked together at Arsenal for several years, with Guendouzi keen on a Premier League reunion.

He is currently a key player for Ligue 1 club Marseille, helping them to third place in the table.

The French giants are open for deals this month but Villa will have to pay a whopping £30million for the privilege.
