THE Apprentice’s Brittany Carter has broken her silence on rumors of an affair with co-star Nick Shotering and admitted: “We’re really close.”
Brittany made the show’s history by featuring in the all-female semifinal, but was eliminated on tonight’s episode.
During that time she competed to win Lord Sugar’s £250,000 investment in her business to launch alcoholic beverages.
But along with a packed filming schedule, Brittany found time to get closer to her competitor Nick.
The couple had a secret relationship but were afraid their affair would be made public because it was against the show’s rules.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Brittany affirmed: “We are really really good friends.
“There’s no romance there, despite what people think.
“We’re really close. Nick is one of the people I spend the most time with at home because we’re so empathetic.
“He’s very funny, and I think I’m really funny, so we get along really well.” But it was just a friendship, to set the record. “
Describing herself as an “intern fan”, Brittany admits she has endured the pressure of the week’s interviews.
The semi-final episode saw fan favorite Claude Littner return to bake the contenders.
The multi-millionaire executive has appeared as an interviewer on the show since it began in 2005, and he replaced Nick Hewer as Lord Sugar’s assistant in 2015.
Lord Sugar candidates also face scrutiny from Claudine Collins, Linda Plant and Mike Soutar.
Brittany told The Sun: “I felt like it was because I knew how the interviews were going, I was almost thinking in my head what was going to happen ahead.
“When I review the interviews, I can only say that I am not my confident person.
“I didn’t respond with the answers I knew I would give right now. I was kicking myself.
“I just wanted to shake myself up and be like ‘have more confidence’.
“You can’t even imagine what the pressure is like. It was intense and that’s why I feel like I didn’t give the interview I was going to be at the beginning of the game.
“You’re also very tired of this point and the thing that people don’t really care about.
“You’ve been working on your** for ten weeks, giving it all you’ve got so you can get the job done and suddenly you come in for an interview and you haven’t slept for two and a half months and a Someone starts criticizing your business and you cry.”
Brittany admits the pressure makes her emotional when being harassed by the interviewers.
She added: “It makes a lot of sense because you’re so close and you’re so passionate about your business.
“When you’re on the mission you don’t think it’s going to be broadcast, but in the interview you’re very conscious of ‘this is my brand and my business, people will see this’ and it just adds a layer of pressure because you want to represent your business well.
“And when you get to the last four games, you really start to fantasize about winning.
“You start imagining what it would mean and what you would do. You start spending money and talking to Lord Sugar in your head.”
