The Basket app aims to help you cut your grocery costs by tracking the cheapest prices near you

Basket is an app co-founded by Andy Ellwood and Neil Kataria that draws on data from other shoppers to provide information on the lowest prices in your neighborhood.

The team at Basket works to update in-store and online prices regularly, and collect data from local shoppers, to provide the most up-to-date pricing and inventory information.

Hundreds of retailers are included in the app, including big names like Target, Walmart, Costco, Whole Foods, Publix and many more.

Unlike other apps, Basket is free to use and doesn’t have any fees involved.

How it works?

If you’re looking to save money on groceries without going to five different stores, you can create a list of all the items you need in the Basket app.

You can create your list in the app anytime from anywhere.

You will then be able to see prices compare between all the stores in your area.

Sales and coupons are also taken into account to help you make the most informed shopping decision.

From there, you’ll be able to see which local retailers are offering the best deals on all the items in your cart.

Then you can proceed with the shopping.

More grocery shopping tips

While it can be time-consuming, if you’re looking to save your bank account on your next grocery shopping trip, you might want to look for coupons.

Some retailers offer them along with a receipt when you pay.

Most people don’t think twice before tossing receipts and coupons in the trash, but you could actually be losing potential future savings.

If there’s an item on sale that you often use in your home, you can stock it while it’s cheaper.

This is especially true of non-perishable items, but also applies to meats and other foods that can be frozen.

It could mean a bigger grocery bill now, but you’ll save in the future when the item is back at full price and you’ve got it.
