‘The answer is no’ – N’Golo Kante ‘makes shock decision on Chelsea future with ace available on free transfer in 2023’

N’GOLO KANTE reportedly does NOT want to leave Chelsea next summer.

The Frenchman is available on a free transfer in 2023 when his Blues contract expires.

Negotiations between Kante and the west Londoners have stalled over the length of a potential extension.

The 31-year-old would like a three to four-year contract comparable to that of new signing Kalidou Koulibaly in the summer.

However, given his injury record in recent seasons, Chelsea only want to sign a two-year deal.

Kante is happy living in London and has reportedly even been offered Arsenal and Tottenham by his representatives.

But according to French outlet Le10 Sport, he would prefer to stay at Chelsea.

The midfielder has not played since the 2-2 draw against Tottenham on August 14.

He’s about to return to the action, but boss Graham Potter is anxious not to rush him.

Before last weekend’s 3-0 win against Wolves, the 47-year-old said: “He’s becoming more and more integrated into the team. He’s not ready for the weekend, but getting closer.

“It is what it is, there is nothing we can do, the injury happened and now it’s a matter of getting him fit again and preparing him as much as possible so he can play for a longer period of time.

“He’s been on and off with injuries for an extended period so we need to make sure when he’s back he’s back for good and strong and enjoying his football.

“So from my perspective, there’s no frustration, it’s just something we have to deal with.”
