The 56-year-old thief was jailed after stealing the Ukrainian charity box from the pub as the landlord described him as “the worst thing in humanity”.

A HEARTLESS crook has been jailed for stealing a Ukrainian charity box from a pub, with the landlord branding him ‘the worst thing in humanity’.
Calvin Henry, 56, stole the cash-filled bin from It’s Inn the Bank while staff were distracted.
The donations were for an appeal in Ukraine and another fund for a stroke unit.
The clever thief appeared before Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today and has been charged with burglary.
Owner David Murphy, 55, said the man was “the worst thing on earth”.
He added: “I couldn’t believe it when I was told. It’s disgusting.
“I can’t imagine anyone trying to do that, it’s pretty incredible.
“For them it’s just money. You think of nothing else.”
Police officers arrested Henry, from Mapperley, Nottinghamshire, on Wednesday in connection with the incident.
He was also charged with fraud related to separate allegations.
After pleading guilty to theft on March 15, 2022, the crook and fraudster was sentenced to 24 weeks in prison.
He was also ordered to pay £200 in compensation for the charity box and £78.98 for the scam.
Sergeant Rebecca O’Connor, of Gedling Neighborhood Police, said: “Nottinghamshire Police take all reports of burglary and fraud incredibly seriously.”
Sergeant O’Connor said the force is doing everything it can to seek justice for victims of similar crimes.
