TRIBUTE was paid to a carefree Brit who was shot dead in Bermuda.
Two suspects have been arrested after 23-year-old Kyari Flood was found dead in a “remote” area near the capital Hamilton on Monday.
Police said a 19-year-old was arrested at 11am on Wednesday after executing a firearms warrant.
A 20-year-old man was also arrested and remains in police custody.
Police said Kyari’s death “may have a direct link” to reports of gunfire heard by local residents Sunday night.
He was found dead the next day from a gunshot wound in a run-down building in a “very remote place”.
Kyari’s family described him as “happy-go-lucky”.
They said he is focused on getting his life back on track and returning to England after a stint in prison to be with his father and sister, reports the Royal Gazette.
“He was enthusiastic about the work and looking forward to traveling back and seeing his family in England,” said a relative.
“I was told he was well mannered, very talented, he made time for the work and everyone at this particular facility that he worked at is very proud of him.”
The relative said Kyari’s mother tragically died in a motorcycle accident in 2021.
“Even though he was going through his own pain and trauma, he cared for his sister,” she said.
“He would do anything to make sure she’s okay.
“They had a really, really close relationship.”
Detective Inspector Jason Smith said: “The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their support in our investigation into the circumstances surrounding Kyari Flood’s death.
“However, much remains to be done and we once again appeal to anyone with information, even if you do not consider it important, to please get in touch with us.
“The little information you have may be just what we need to bring whoever is responsible for Mr Flood’s death to justice.”
