Our reporter Will Pugh took them for a spin over a two-month period to see if they were all they were.

The setup process is as easy as pie.

Charge the sensors in the holder for a few hours and scan your QR code to download the Playermaker app.

Then, once you’ve registered your name, job title, age, gender, height, weight, preferred foot and email address, and connected the sensors to your phone via Bluetooth, you’re good to go.

The sensor slot for easy access to the rubber strap is provided, available in black and gray and a variety of sizes.

WARNING: Make sure Playermaker sensors are COMPLETELY charged before each game or practice session or else your stats will NOT be recorded, as SunSport has learned the hard way.

So when you’re fully charged and ready to play, plug the sensors into the rubber straps and slide them over your boots.

The first few times you wear them, it’s easy to panic that they’re not connected.

But as long as you check the ‘last connection’ time in the sensor settings in the app and the blue light flashes clearly through the rubber straps on each foot, you should be fine.

During matches or practice sessions, you barely notice the Playermakers on.

After answering a few questions from fellow players, sessions continued as usual.

Initial concerns about them affecting the touch or touch on the outside of your foot proved unfounded.

And once your head into the game, you forget that you’ve got these slight additions.

As SunSport learned the hard way, you MUST fully charge them before using or you won't record any stats

At the end of each session, care should be taken to remove the sensors from the belt and back to their holder as soon as possible.

This initiates the synchronization process, as long as your phone remains connected to Bluetooth and thus the post-session assessment begins.

Once the data is successfully synced, you’ll be prompted to enter some session details, including training sessions or matches.

The scores, goals and assists you receive will come next before you are notified of any personal achievements you beat while playing.

These include working speed, kick speed, and high sprint speed.

The first sessions highlighted how our reporter is on one foot with the first session showing him using his left foot only 15% of the time compared to 85 on the right.

That includes technical breakdown of 14% of his left-wing reception and only EIGHT% of releases made with his weaker foot.

Such a severe imbalance immediately gave him something to work with for the next few weeks.

The app also shows associations including possession and dropping of the ball – totals and ‘every 10 minutes’ metrics.

The paced gameplay breaks down how long you own and how much of it is one-touch possession, short and long.

And the ball stats include total distance covered, sprint distance, top sprint speed, sprints taken, and accelerations and decelerations that occurred.

After each subsequent session, all of those stats are compared with the previous sessions and the individual’s best results and the display shows which stats have improved or gotten worse .

The ‘activity’ screen shows headline statistics while comparison graphs are also available under the ‘statistics’ tab.

And the ‘leaderboard’ section of the app also allows users to compare their stats with the stats of similar players around the world as well as their contacts, friends and favorite players. tu.

The settings allow coaches and teams to track your stats via automated email.

But one of the main limitations is changing your location.

Like our reporter, if you play a lot of seven, eight and 11 one-sided games in a typical month in a number of different positions, it will be quite difficult for you to switch positions.

You have to do it through the settings every time while picking it up after the game is much easier when you enter goals and assists etc.

Also not having the option to choose the format of the match (i.e. the number of players per side) is also an area for improvement.

This can lead to skewed statistics if you switch between 7 and 11 sides, for example, for a week.

All in all, the Playermaker Uno set is a great addition to any player’s tool bag if, like our reporter, you like gadgets and enjoy reviewing information and want to improve the game. mine.

The more time passes, the more patterns emerge and you begin to remember the areas you want to improve on as you play.

And after a tough couple of weeks of using the left foot that was not clearly used, our reporter achieved a record high left foot utilization rate of 23%, up from the original lousy 15.
