TGI Fridays has added six new protein options, four new sides and nine sauces as part of its Grilled and Sauced menu launched in June.
The menu adds a bold, spicy new flavor profile to TGI Fridays’ regular offering, the chain’s US President Brandon Coleman told Restaurant Dive.
“People want bold flavors, ethnic flavors, and they really want to explore new tastes and new spaces, and they like spicy flavors.”
TGI Fridays is hoping to attract younger customers as its competitors such as Denny’s, IHOP and Chilli’s have also added exciting new menu options this year.

In the new Grilled and Sauce menu, customers can choose from the following proteins:
- Two 5 oz grilled chicken breasts
- 12oz New York Strip
- 6 ounce center-cut sirloin
- 8 ounce flat iron steak
- 6 ounces of salmon
- Big ribs on Fridays
And four new pages are available:
- Brocoli Slaw
- Elote street corn
- Green beans with garlic and butter with bacon
- Tomato Cucumber Onion Salad
Customers can drench their protein with one of nine flavorful sauces:
- Foxx on the Roxx BBQ
- Signature dry massage on Fridays
- Apple BBQ Butter
- Korean Red Chili
- Orange frosting with spikes made with Hennessy
- TGI Fridays whiskey glaze on fire
- Signature whiskey glaze
- Al Pastor
- Nashville hot
More good news for meat lovers: The New York Strip and chicken prices have been reduced. However, please note that prices may vary depending on location.
But there are other exciting menu changes coming up at TGI Fridays.
“The bigger change that we’re making in the next round … will be quite monumental for our brand,” said the company’s president.
According to Retail Dive, TGI Fridays is planning another major menu change this fall that will offer even more variety and customization.
However, no further details have been announced yet.
MORE CHANGES IN THE MENU
TGI Fridays isn’t the only restaurant changing its flavor profile to attract more customers.
Beginning June 1, Buffalo Wild Wings customers have been able to choose between General Tso’s and Sweet Chile Limes sauces for their chicken.

Meanwhile, Taco Bell has brought back a popular limited-time menu that customers haven’t seen in seven years.
And even McDonald’s is making some key improvements to its signature burgers.
