In “Creed”, the club where Bianca performed where Adonis went before he asked her out, called Johnny Brenda’s, is a real club in Philly. Tessa Thompson supposedly found the place on her own, as she performed her music there for a while before filming the movie and recommended it to Directed by Ryan Coogler (through the Philadelphia Magazine).
As Thompson is a musical artist outside of the “Creed” movies in the Los Angeles-based band Caught A Ghost (via ELLE), she made her own musical contributions to both the soundtracks for “Creed” and “Creed II. Her songs on both albums include “Grip”, “Breathe”, “Midnight”, and most notably, “I Will Go to War”, which Bianca herself sings as a prelude to Adonis. in the second fight against Viktor Drago, emphasizing the fact that they are a team that will take on challenges together.
Thompson compared his own development as a person and actor to Bianca’s around the time of the first two “Creed” films (via Fandango). She even noted her specific desire to always give her character a voice in “Creed II”. “We’ve just had a lot of conversations around how we’re continuing to give this character Bianca her own agency and how we’ve made sure that her voice is really present in it and right there. even if she doesn’t take up much page space, that her page space doeS Thompson told Fandango.
As “Creed III” Approaches Michael B. Jordan As director and star, it’s likely he’ll continue working with Thompson to further strengthen Bianca’s character.
