All money raised from our appeal for help will be donated to the British Red Cross who are providing local aid.
Jason Tarry, CEO of Tesco UK and ROI, said: “Tesco fully supports this appeal and has committed to donate £100,000 to support the essential relief efforts of the British Red Cross.”
M&S CEO Stuart Machin said the disaster was close to home as the company had “many teams based in Turkey”.
The company also donated 5,000 thermoses.
Meanwhile, Caring Daisy Jones, eight, from Overton, Hants, also did her part by donating £5 of her birthday bonus.
Daisy said: “Our teachers told us about the earthquake at school.
“I was so sad and saw pictures of affected children on TV.
“I really wanted to do something to help.
“It was my birthday last month and I really wanted to give something.
“I hope it will help the kids out there.”
We ask readers who have something left to help in the region, the Red Cross will ensure that the money quickly reaches those in need.
You can donate via SMS or online.
Mike Adamson, Chief Executive of the British Red Cross, said: “The level of destruction caused by these earthquakes was devastating.
“Right now it’s all about rescuing people from the rubble.”
“Your donations will support search and rescue missions on the ground and provide vital assistance to those who need it most.
“Thank you Sun readers for your kind support. Everything you give makes a difference.”
