Terrifying moment three-step killer walks with victim final moments before he rapes and murders mother-to-be 5 months

THIS is the unsettling moment a triple killer walks with his pregnant victim, before he raped, murdered, and dumped her body in a river.

Anthony Russell, 39, murdered three people in six days – and was convicted of raping his last victim, who was five months pregnant.

He previously pleaded guilty to murdering Julie Williams, 58, and her son, David Williams, 32, in separate apartments in Coventry on October 25 and October 21, respectively.

He has also admitted to the October 26 murder of Nicole McGregor, 31, who was found in the woods near Leamington Spa three days later.

After a retrial at Warwick Crown Court, Russell was unanimously found guilty on Thursday of raping Ms McGregor, after just an hour and 23 minutes of jury deliberation.

The 39-year-old man assaulted her hours after she showed him a photo of her baby.

And a chilling CCTV clip shows the killer walking with the pregnant woman just minutes before the vile attack.

Russell also told her future father and mate McGregor: “I bet you can’t wait for it to come out”, within hours of her disappearance – upon learning he had raped and killed her.

The killer strangled Mr. Williams with a lanyard and left his body under his bed, where police found it five days later, with 87 wounds.

Russell later testified that he had killed a man who “had sex with his girlfriend”.

Russell strangled Mr. Williams’ mother in a “violent and sustained attack” in which she was hit five times in the head and neck, prosecutors said.

She had 113 separate injuries and was presumed dead because she discovered Russell had murdered her son.

CCTV footage of Ms McGregor, who lives in an apartment in Leamington, was shown to the jury during the trial, showing her accompanied by Russell at 7:45pm on October 26.

In her opening remarks, prosecutor Zoe Johnson QC said of the footage: “This was the last time Nicole was seen alive.

“Just three hours after meeting the defendant, it appears that Nicole agreed to walk with the defendant to Newbold Comyn.

“We suggest that the defendant lured Nicole to Comyn, not for sex, but more likely for drugs.

“The defendant murdered Nicole McGregor shortly after that image was taken, just hours after they met.”

After the murder, he pretends to help McGregor’s partner find her.

The killer eventually became the subject of a nationwide manhunt, and fled Leamington by robbing a 78-year-old man’s car.

Russell rang the pensioner’s doorbell to ask for directions, and when the victim was distracted, he hit his head with a brick from behind, causing him to fracture his skull and bleed to his brain.

The killer was arrested on 30 October after police discovered the stolen Ford C-Max parked on a road near Burton on Trent, Staffordshire, and found Russell in the back seat.
