The footage shows the Ukrainian marine walking to the window of a partially destroyed building and opening fire with his assault rifle.

Moments later, a cloud of dust is directly overhead as a bullet hits the wall.

It appears it hit no more than an inch above his helmet.

The soldier then backs away from the window and can be seen exchanging a few words with a stunned comrade.

The images were obtained by the 35th Separate Marine Infantry Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Ostrogradskyi, along with a statement that said: “A Marine miraculously avoided being hit by a bullet during contact combat with the enemy.

“The Ukrainian defender shot at the enemy. And he returned fire. The camera recorded one of the bullets flying over the marine’s helmet.

“May fate continue to protect our brothers from enemy attack.”

It comes after a grisly video surfaced reportedly showing the head of a Ukrainian soldier on a spike after being beheaded by Russian troops.

The timing of the chilling clip, which appeared on social media, cannot be verified – but the alleged killing on the battlefield is believed to date back to 2022.

The barbaric video showed a masked man in camouflage clothing severing the head of an apparent prisoner of war wearing Ukrainian regalia with a knife.

The victim begs for mercy and repeats the words “it hurts” and “stop” before being killed.

The horrific video has sparked outrage in Ukraine, with Kiev saying Russia is “worse than ISIS”.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he would hold those behind him accountable.

He said in a speech posted on social media that “the world needs to see” what he called an “execution” of a Ukrainian prisoner.

“There is something no one in the world can ignore: how easily these beasts kill,” said the fierce Ukrainian leader.

“We will not forget anything and we will not forgive murderers either.”

Another gruesome clip, allegedly filmed by Russian Wagner Group mercenaries, showed the decapitated bodies of two Ukrainian soldiers lying on the ground next to a wrecked military vehicle.

During the recording, the person filming can be heard in Russian: “[The armoured vehicle] was fucked by a mine.

“They killed them, someone came up to them, they came up to them and cut off their heads.”
