He was getting off the train to buy water when he fell between the narrow gap between the vehicle and the platform.

Dramatic footage shows fellow passengers screaming in fear as the Mumbai train rushes by.

Raju can be seen crouching frantically, trying to squeeze into a small gap.

Luckily, he got out alive when worried commuters jumped onto the tracks to help him.

But his fingers had been chopped off as the train passed in the shocking incident on Wednesday.

He was taken to a health clinic before being taken to the hospital.

Doctors confirmed Raju lost two fingers on his left hand, the Times of India reports.

He also needed stitches for a head injury

GRP chief Inamullah Khan at the Janghai Junction told local media: “Raju slipped on the platform while trying to board a moving train.

“His two fingers were pinched under train wheels while at least four stitches were administered to stop the bleeding from his head injury.”

It comes after a woman crossing a railway twice dodged death as she walked back to get a water bottle after being rescued from a train.

The video shows the woman crossing the line between two platforms at the train station instead of using the pedestrian bridge just meters away.

The incident happened at Shikohabad railway station in India’s Uttar Pradesh province, NDTV reported.

A quick-thinking station worker, credited to local media as Ram Swaroop Meena, rushes to drag the yellow-clad woman back onto the platform as a train approaches.

But when he lifts her off her back and steps back, she bends down to pick up the water bottle that’s on the platform.

She picks up the bottle and keeps her head out of the way for a split second as the train rushes by.
