TWO truck drivers have died in a violent rear-end collision that closed both lanes of the Autobahn.

The sheriff’s office responded to the horrific accident in Belgium, Wisconsin on Thursday that claimed the lives of both drivers.

Ozaukee County authorities confirmed tragedy struck after a tractor-trailer trailer truck headed north – but went off the road.

The semi pulled through the median on the interstate and sped into the southbound lanes.

Milton Christensen, 50, who was driving the semi, then collided head-on with another semi that was traveling south.

This southbound semi-truck was driven by 69-year-old Richard Wysocki, who also died in the fatal accident.

“Both vehicles were severely damaged and both drivers succumbed to their injuries at the scene,” the sheriff’s office said.

The fiery crash carnage blocked northbound and southbound lanes while police cleared the scene.

The investigation into the fatal collision is ongoing.

The lanes were fully reopened at 1:18 a.m. today.

Several authorities responded to the scene of the accident when it happened.

In addition to the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office, the Port Washington, Saukville, and Mequon Police Departments were on site.

Also helping were the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, the Belgian Fire Department, the Fredonia Fire Department, the Port Washington Fire Department, and the Waubeka Fire Department.

Ozaukee County Emergency Management, Cedarburg Emergency Management, Ozaukee County Highway Department Milwaukee Fire Belle and Lansers Towing also helped.
