PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The warm front is now passing, and today’s top temperatures will rise to nearly 20 degrees above the daily average for this time of year.
Immediately: Pick of the week with a 50s high in Pittsburgh.

Alarm: Watch out for the possibility of river flooding. Rain by itself is probably not enough. It takes the impact of a rock jam to be anything more than VERY isolated…
Awareness: From Thursday to Friday, the chance of snowfall will have a slight effect on morning commutes at most during this time. Temperatures will quickly drop from 60 degrees on Thursday to 20 on Friday morning.
I have Pittsburgh hitting 58 for today’s high. Clouds will roll in around 10:00 a.m. and the rest of the day deal with overcast to cloudy skies.

Southeast winds will still push the temperature up.
My temperature is in the mid-40s at 10am and I’ve been to most places in the area already in the 50s by midday. I have a temperature at 4pm of 57.
The dry weather won’t last much longer with rain continuing to return on Thursday afternoon. My stay in Pittsburgh was dry until 1 p.m., so any outdoor work can best be done in the morning.

Total precipitation will vary from less than an inch to a visible number of more than an inch and a half. I also see some signs of possible thunderstorms between around 8pm and midnight on Thursday night.
If we get a thunderstorm or two, they won’t be as severe. Although there can be high winds. Thursday’s high should be near 60.
The record intraday high of 68 degrees was set in 1883.
New to the forecast of possible sleet on Saturday.
As temperatures continue to drop after rain and snow tomorrow, weather systems that appeared to have remained north of here just 24 hours ago are now tracking further south.
Saturday’s system can create a quick snow cover with temperatures that aren’t really conducive to long-lasting snow.
