Teenage girls, 14 and 15, who disappeared within just half an hour two days ago have been found safe

DETECTIVE launched an urgent appeal after two teenage schoolgirls disappeared together two days ago.

Staffordshire Police have now located Ellie-Mae Matthews, 14, and Katie McCormack, 15, after the couple went missing from Tamworth.

The girls were last seen just half an hour apart, with officers believing they were dating.

Ellie-Mae was last seen in Tamworth around 12pm on Friday, and Katie just half an hour later.

A spokesman for the force said: “Thank you to everyone who shared our appeals regarding the missing 14-year-old Ellie-Mae Matthews and 15-year-old Katie McCormack, both from Tamworth.

“They were both found safe and well.”
