Teenage girl, 18, killed in horror crash as cops arrest two men, 20 and 21, for incident and ‘drinking’

TWO men have been arrested after a young girl was crushed and killed in a horror accident.

The 18-year-old was walking across a car park in the Dormans area of ​​Gossops Green in Crawley, West Sussex, when she was hit.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead around 2.40am Monday after the collision at the scene.

Her next of kin have been informed.

Police arrested two men, aged 20 and 21, after speeding to the scene in the early hours of the morning.

The couple were suspected of causing the death by dangerous driving and being incapacitated by alcohol and drugs.

The 20-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B drug.

Both have since been released as part of an investigation.

Police are desperately looking for the occupants of a second vehicle who may have witnessed the incident.

Officials urged the motorist to come forward while the investigation into the fatal accident continues.

A Sussex Police spokesman said last night: “Officers are appealing for witnesses and footage following a fatal collision in Crawley.

“They were called to a car park in Dormans in the Gossops Green area around 2.40am on Monday.

“A car and a pedestrian are believed to have been involved in the incident.

“An 18-year-old woman from Crawley was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.

“Two men, aged 21 and 20, from Crawley have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, drunk driving and driving in excess of the regulated alcohol and drug limit.

“The 20-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a Class B drug.

“Both men have been released as part of an investigation pending further investigation.

“Investigating officers asked the occupants of a second vehicle in the parking lot at the time to come forward.”
