Following the shocking revelations, the mother-of-two took to Instagram to reassure her fans that she is heading towards a brighter future.

She posted a quote that read, “I like the person I’m becoming. Very much.”

Amber was flooded with messages of support and praising the star for how far she’s come.

Amber candidly delves into her mental illness, her struggle with addiction, and more compliance with laws in the tome full of jam.

“I first tried to kill myself when I was 11 years old,” she wrote, before adding that she sometimes thinks – when she tries to kill herself – she is trying to be with her dead sister in a way. traumatized by Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

But the reality star candidly reflected: “The truth is I don’t know why I did it; I’m probably too young to know.”

“Self-medication is very common in the world of the mentally ill. When I was nine years old, I tried my first opiate and it was the best feeling in the world.

“All the dark thoughts that were floating around in my brain suddenly went quiet. My first pill was a quarter of OxyContin. After that, I used drugs on a fairly regular basis during my teenage years.”

Amber said she suddenly had new friends and drugs made her less shy and worried.

When she was in middle school, she confessed: “My friends and I broke my parents’ medicine cabinet and took pills a few times a week to make our school days more enjoyable.”

The Teen Mom star admits her addiction continues to grow in a disturbing and very real way.

“Unbeknownst to me at the time, taking a few pills here and there to boost my confidence would eventually turn into a complete addiction to opioids.”

MTV would bring Dr. Drew Pinsky to speak with various show actors over the years, and one conversation he had with Amber helped her stand out.

Drew told Amber he believes her drug habit is becoming an issue for her.

“Years later, it was Dr. Drew Pinsky, who was walking down the street with me in NYC at our first season reunion, who told me he was concerned that I had become addicted to prescription drugs. I was socked.
