Teddy Balkind’s last post revealed as tribute to high school hockey star who died when ice skating cut his throat

TEDDY Balkind’s last Instagram post was revealed in tribute to the young hockey star, who passed away when a skate that cut his throat, went viral on social media.

The 10th grader shared photos of himself on a BMX bike with the words “Great race on a great track” in October.

Comments, opinions there are many people who express their condolences to Teenagers are passing.

Balkind fell on the ice during a match on Thursday night. While on the ground, another player collide with him. The game was immediately halted when Balkind was taken to the local hospital, where he later died.

Since then, tributes from family and friends have gone out to professional athletes in the National Hockey League.

The hashtag “for Teddy” has started going viral on social media. People have posted pictures of the hockey stick as a tribute to the teenager.

The trend is related to a tragic incident in 2018 when a bus carrying Team Humboldt Bronco, from Canada’s Saskatchewan Children’s Hockey League, crashed into a tractor-trailer.

Fifteen people were killed including players, coaches and a broadcaster.

At the time of the incident, Brian Munz of Canada’s TSN network posted a picture of a friend leaving a hockey stick on his porch with the caption: “Let it out on the porch tonight. Guys might need it…wherever they are. #SticksOutForHumboldt. ”

The tradition now continues to honor Balkind’s life.

‘POINTS FOR TEDDY’

On January 7, NHL’s Official Twitter account announced Balkind’s departure.

“The National Hockey League mourns the tragic passing of Teddy Balkind, a member of the hockey family who died too soon,” it read, along with the hashtag.

“Our sincerest prayers and condolences go out to his family, St. Luke and many of his friends.”

“The hockey world is grieving the tragic loss of Teddy Balkind yesterday,” tweeted Kevin Shatenkirk, a member of the United States Olympic team and the current defender of the Anaheim Ducks.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the young players from St. Luke’s and Brunswick and especially the Balkind family. Rest In Peace Teddy #SticksOutForTeddy.”

Player Anaheim Ducks Adam Henrique tweeted: “So sad to learn of the tragic loss of Teddy Balkind. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Balkind family. #sticksoutforteddy.”

Orange Atkinson, who plays forward for the Philadelphia Flyers, tweeted: “My heart is broken for the Balkind family and everyone who has known and loved Teddy.

“We’re sending our love out to the St. Luke’s and Brunswick communities. What a horrible tragedy to play the game we all love.”

St. Luke’s, where Balkind attends, sent an email to parents on Friday with the words: “Our community is mourning.

“Yesterday, we lost a precious young man in a tragic accident. Both the School of St. Luke and Brunswick School are both shocked as we work to support our students and families.

“St. Luke’s sole focus at this time is on caring for our devastated community. Thank you for your concern and respect for our grieving needs.

“There are no appropriate words at this point, and I know we’ll all support each other as much as we can.”

The school was supposed to open classes remotely on Friday because of heavy snowfall, but had to close instead due to the tragedy.
