The singer said she has the flu that feels worse than Covid.
Tamar, 45, shared the news via Instagram on Friday.
“I was shopping with my best friends and doing some Christmas fun and THE NEXT DAY I had to be taken to the hospital by AMBULANCE, needed oxygen because I thought God would take me home because I couldn’t breathe and my chest was in Flames!!
“I was taken to @northsidehosp and met by the BEST nurses and doctors including @therealdrjackie to find out what’s going on…
“Y’all, I’ve got the FLU! And let me tell you, I think it’s worse than COVID… I’m on 5 different meds.
“Please be careful… I haven’t been with many people and I have NO IDEA where that came from.
“Enjoy your vacation AT HOME… you don’t want that.
“Oh yeah I’m in total isolation because it’s freaking contagious. I really love you all ❤️.”
Tamar has since been released from hospital and is recovering at home.
TRACI BRAXTON
Tamar’s sister, actress Traci Braxton, died on March 11, 2022.
The 50-year-old sadly lost her years of silent battle with cancer.
At the time, her son Kevin Surratt Jr. took to Instagram to confirm the news.
In a picture of him hugging his mother, he wrote: “When I heard the news that my mother was ill, the first thing she said was that I will fight and I will beat this. She fought to the end and today she is at peace.
“I love my mom forever and it hurts so much, but I’m reassured knowing she’s no longer in pain. I love you ma, I will miss you,” he finished.
THE BRAXTONS
Tamar first rose to fame in 1990 after forming The Braxtons with her sisters Traci Braxton, Trina Braxton and Toni Braxton.
The trio released their debut album So Many Ways in 1996 but disbanded shortly thereafter.
Tamar subsequently launched a successful solo career but reunited with her family in 2011 for the popular reality series Braxton Family Values, which ran until 2020.

Tamar has won multiple awards over the years, including a BET Award and three Soul Train Music Awards.
She also made history on Celebrity Big Brother by becoming the first African American woman to win in the United States.
