A PREGNANT mother’s autopsy has revealed the horrific injuries that led to her death after she was shot by a police officer in a Kroger parking lot.

Ta’Kiya Young, 21, died from a single gunshot wound that pierced her heart and spine after she was shot outside a building Kroger in the parish of Blendon, Ohioabout two hours south of Akron.

Young, who was 24 to 28 weeks pregnant with a baby girl, was shot and killed by a Blendon Township police officer on Aug. 24 police Department.

Two Blendon Township police officers were helping someone in the parking lot when a Kroger employee came out and accused Young of shoplifting as she got into her car, according to police body camera footage.

The video showed officers approaching Young, who argued with them before ignoring their commands as she drove off.

The officer standing in front of Young’s car fired a shot through her windshield, hitting the 21-year-old.

Young was taken to Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Hospital, where she later died.

The Blendon Township Police Department has not released the identity of the officer who fired the fatal shot.
