Sykkuno defends Pokimane after she got banned from Twitch

Fellow streamer and best friend Sykkuno defended Imane “Pokimane” Anys after she was recently banned on Twitch following a DMCA violation.

During a recent Twitch stream, Sykkuno was role-playing on the GTA V NoPixel server when he discovered that Pokimane’s channel had been banned by Twitch from their platform. Sykkuno was informed of the ban by viewers in his chat and then tried to figure out the reason for it. He spotted her ban before she announced it on Twitter and exclaimed:

“She didn’t tweet about it or nothing at all. So her channel is gone. Oh my gosh!”

Sykkuno defends Pokimane’s viewing of copyrighted content on the stream by labeling it ‘variable’

Sykkuno is one of Pokimane’s best friends in the streaming world, with the pair streaming together quite often. Sykkuno discovered this before the tweet about Pokimane being suspended on Twitch when interested viewers in his chat let him know about the issue.

When he heard about it, Sykkuno didn’t believe it at first. He knows that Pokimane streamed copyrighted content on her channel. She watched the popular anime series Avatar: The Last Airbender on her live stream with thousands of viewers. However, Sykkuno doesn’t think that’s enough to get one of the most popular streamers on the purple platform banned.

Sykkuno discussed the incident at length with her viewers and debated whether watching the show was the sole reason for her suspension on the platform. He knows that many streamers have been watching copyrighted content on live streams lately, including Matthew “Mizkif” Rinaudo, who was also watching the exact same show. He asked his viewers if that was the reason for the ban:

“Is that because of what we thought it was either?”

Sykkuno then tried to protect his Pokimane friend by saying:

“No way, guys. She reflected it. She reflected it. It was transformative.”

Later in the day, Pokimane tweeted that she was given a 48-hour suspension by Twitch. She hinted at her ban reason in the tweet by mentioning the show. She joked on Twitter:

“Fire Nation Attack”

Sykkuno took this opportunity to mock Pokimane.

He responded to her tweet with a hilarious tweet using a Monka emoji mocking the incident. Although the reaction is quite humorous, it is clear that Sykkuno is quite concerned and worried about his best friend.
