Supercomputer predicts Premier League final table after Arsenal take a four-point lead and Liverpool beat Man City

LIVERPOOL’s win over Manchester City on Sunday night saw Arsenal extend a four-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Mikel Arteta’s men have dropped just three points so far this season and won nine of their ten games, including a 1-0 win over Leeds at the weekend.

But despite their stellar start to the season, an OLGB supercomputer still makes defending champions Man City overwhelming favorites to retain their crown.

They are 1/4 to be top of the Premier League at the end of the season, with Arsenal 6/1 – a heavily discounted price from a few months ago.

The supercomputer has also predicted that Tottenham and Manchester United will miss out on the top four.

Antonio Conte’s Spurs are currently in third place, just four points behind Arsenal.

United are three points behind third-placed Chelsea after their goalless draw with Newcastle at the weekend.

However, the data concludes that Liverpool will bounce back from a slow start to third place, with Graham Potter’s Blues claiming last place in the Champions League.

Newcastle, Brighton, West Ham and Crystal Palace are also backed for a top-half finish.

But at the other end of the table, Nottingham Forest appear doomed as they are just 2/7 from relegation.

Steve Cooper’s men, currently bottom by just five points, are predicted to finish 20th in their first season back in the top flight since 1999.

According to the supercomputer, Bournemouth and Leicester will join them in the Championship next season – both somewhat surprising.

The Cherries have been in good form since Scott Parker’s sacking, with caretaker boss Gary O’Neil leading to a six-game unbeaten streak.

But they’re still 10/11 to return to the championship for the first time after being called upon.

And Brendan Rodgers’ Foxes are expected to be the third and final victim next May.

Leicester have won just one of their first 10 games and are only ahead of Forest on goal difference.

And they are 7/4 to be relegated to the club’s first relegation since being relegated to League One in 2008.

Sides forecast to narrowly avoid the drop include Southampton, Wolves, Fulham and Everton.
