Selling Sunset’s Vanessa Villela said she missed almost half of the show’s filming for the hit reality series when she was knocked out by Covid-19.

The 43-year-old real estate agent tested positive for the virus in August just as production began on Netflix’s Hollywood Hills Series 4.

And due to being contracted to a ‘strong case’, she has been out of action for five weeks and is still plagued by symptoms due to encephalitis.

She told Page Six: “In 11 weeks of filming, I was sick for 5 weeks. I got COVID in August and we started filming right in that moment, so obviously they couldn’t wait. wait for me.”

She continued: ‘I had a very strong case of COVID. In my case, it’s still happening for real.

“It’s called long COVID. I’m still working on it.”

Vanessa joins the cast of hit Netflix reality show alongside new co-star Emma Hernan for season four, which premieres November 24.

And although since fighting back to fitness, the star admitted some of her illness symptoms have affected her work on the show since her return.

The Mexico City native said: “I’ve been sick for so long and you’ll see Vanessa struggling a little bit at work.”

Vanessa explained to Page Six that her encephalitis can cause dizziness and recalls a troubling experience on set.






Since selling Sunset first appeared on the streaming service, it has only become more and more popular

“I went to shoot the day after I was ‘recovered’ and while I was speaking, I started to feel like I was going to pass out and started feeling dizzy,” she said.

“They had to send an Uber to my house.”

On October 17, she shared a Instagram The post was taken with Dr. Katherine Marie Zagone along with some pictures in which she is receiving oxygen and other treatments.

She praised her doctor, who was provided by Semi Sunset, and thanked the program for supporting them throughout her long journey of recovery.

But despite the huge Covid setback for the star, Vanessa told Ok! that fans can expect to see ‘more drama’ from the upcoming season and hinted that her boyfriend may be on the way.

While the release date for the fifth season of Semi-Twilight has yet to be officially confirmed, fans expect it to be in early 2022.
