Warning: The following contains spoilers from good doctor Season 5, Episode 10.
Sayonara, Salen Morrison!
The second episode of good doctor marked the end of the Ethicure CEO’s reign of terror – but not before she nearly decimated the careers of St. Bonaventure. Is Lim’s “Magnificent Seven” ultimately responsible for “throwing her bandit’s ass out of town,” or is it an outside force? Read on to find out…
In the early hours, Lea and Glassman convince Shaun to come back resignation and back to work. Above all, there was nothing Miss Morrison could do. (Is she going to speak ill of the hospital’s defacto poster child’s return?) Even so, Shaun is determined to speak out against the new boss along with his fiancée Lea, his friends and colleagues. him at an upcoming board meeting, regardless of the risk it poses to his residence.
Salen, meanwhile, took extreme action when she learned that several employees had joined Lim’s efforts to defeat her, firing the former director, head of IT Lea and the hospital Prez Glassman – all they all fell. She also threatens to end Asher’s fledgling surgical career, reminding him that he killed a patient (see Season 4, Episode 16: “Dr. Ted”).
In response to Salen’s actions, along with the decision of new director Andrews, Park resigned in solidarity with his faltering colleagues. Even Morgan, who earlier this season lied to patient Nira about her best course of treatment for personal gain, has finally seen the light. Instead of continuing to bow to Salen in hopes of winning Glassman’s clinic for himself, Dr. Reznick joined her boyfriend Park and other doctors for a board meeting. She also shared with Park a letter she sent Nira confessed that she purposely failed to disclose an exploratory procedure that may have fully restored her vision.
Jordan also attended the meeting in solidarity, although it didn’t sound like she was about to speak. She explained to sophomore Asher that as a Black woman in one of the top surgical wards in the country, she had to fight and fight. hard to get to her location. She was fearless in front of Salen; Simply put, she was exhausted – a perfectly valid argument.
In the end, it was Andrews who finally sided with his crooked girlfriend. After begging Salen to listen to Lim and his longtime teammates, Andrews presented her with opposition research… about he himself. If she sticks to her gun and continues the takeover without reconsidering some of her recent reckless behavior, he will also speak out against her, and in turn will have to take her down. knock him down. Alas, whether it was the brief relationship with Andrews that meant so much to her, or the fact that she no longer had allies in the hospital, Salen decided to cut her losses and stop buying back Ethicure. In turn, Park returned to work; Shaun, Lea and Lim have been rehabilitated; and Andrews reclaimed his old job as hospital president. It’s unclear from the episode’s final montage whether Lim will be reinstated as chief of surgery (presumably she is, given how Andrews serves as both presidents). and leadership became an issue in Season 2), and in what capacity – if any, Glassman returned to the hospital.
