Sue Gray picked up a hammer and did major Constitutional damage

SUE Gray has picked up a hammer and torn to pieces the idea of an independent public service.
In fact, it shattered the confidence that allowed Ministers to believe that Whitehall Mandarins’ impartiality could be relied on, despite their personal views.

Now, politicians will always fear that the official they confide in and advise has a political agenda.
Tory ministers will wonder if there are other socialist sleeper cells waiting to trip them up or thwart government policy.
It also calls into question the advice Sue Gray has given over the years, especially as it’s now revealed that she has a longstanding friendship with Keir Starmer while their son hovers around Uxbridge in a bid to defeat Boris Johnson in the next election.
He is not just a foot soldier, but a coordinator of the campaign.
This invalidates her report to Partygate because she was parti pris.
She took legal advice from a QC, now a KC, who urged people to join the Labor Party and had insulted Boris Johnson on Twitter.
Thus, two Labor supporters judged Boris Johnson and, unsurprisingly, found him wanting.
Now that the truth is known, the report is invalid and everything that emerges from it should be null and void, especially the privileges committee.
She has issued a preliminary report that appears to have decided the matter before all the evidence has been heard.
She pretends not to base her views on the Gray Report, but that is not credible.
The Constitution is based on trust, and Sue Gray broke it.
She was too old to nail her flag to the socialist mast and she did great constitutional damage.
